Bio
My experience of IVF is from a patient’s perspective during several years’ of treatment cycles. All very different and both NHS and privately provided, my questioning nature was both a gift and a curse, giving me an insight into the intense and fascinating world of infertility.
After training as a hairdresser then deciding it wasn’t for me, my working life began in soft furnishings retail. Following redundancy I moved to Geneva, Switzerland in my early twenties, where I was an au pair for a few months, then became self-employed. I stayed for several years then returned to England, changing careers completely, working in an office environment in positions from telephone receptionist to creative designer, and pretty much everything in between!
I finally decided to focus my work on what I love – design – and undertook further studies to complete a Diploma of Higher Education in Interior Design, followed by a BA(Hons) in Interior Design in 2010 and 2012 respectively, winning an award for Ludorati Cafe Bar, Nottingham. I also provide decorative hire and styling for events and weddings.
My philosophy? Keep all avenues open and grab every opportunity.
As far as spare time goes I enjoy being with my family and pets. I might dig out the sewing machine on occasion, too, and sometimes challenge myself in the kitchen . I'm also working on two new books - a romantic fiction piece based on a true story, and a children's fantasy style tale. With added unforeseen house renovation works turning into a self-build, any new publications might now take quite some time!
